This is a pencil and gouache drawing of a girl. The inspiration was from my missions trip to Malawi, Africa in the summer of 2015. All the kids liked to crowd around our well drilling rig and watch, and fool around, and just generally enjoy the novelty of our being there; but there was one little girl standing back in the corner with her dress all draped and the light on her, just watching us. I kept remembering the picture and thought she looked just like a princess, so when I needed a pencil portrait for GSA I knew just what to do.
